Academic & Financial Plan
Striving Toward Excellence
The principal is designated by state statute to develop the school Academic Plan and Financial Plan. SCC members are tasked with reviewing and analyzing school data and strategies (curriculum, assessment and instructional) as stated in the Academic Plan and providing recommendations to the principal. The principal has the final authority to determine the content of the Academic Plan and Financial Plan. He or she is responsible for providing the rationale for not incorporating any of the SCC’s recommendations into the plans. An Assurances and Recommendation for Approval Form provides the SCC an opportunity and the means to communicate its assurances and review of the Academic Plan and Financial Plan. Once completed, the Assurances and Recommendation for Approval Form is submitted to the Complex Area Superintendent (CAS). The SCC is also responsible for reviewing progress on the implementation of the school Academic Plan. Evidence of the review process should be duly noted in the SCC meeting minutes.
